I really wasn’t all that pleased with the Oscar painting, so I did another…
Art writer Paul Gardner wrote “A painting is never finished, it simply stops in interesting places.” Oscar should have been finished a couple of weeks ago, but I kept touching it. Now it’s worse. I’m stopping here, in these interesting places.
I had to add hair. And glasses (since that’s how most people see me). I usually have an unruly mess of random hair strands falling out of my hat to the side, so I just went with that. Another one down. Yea.

I loved the way the sunshine hit her face as she was looking up. As I was putting down the basic sketch, I was using pencil rather than charcoal, and was working in a more detailed way.
