Blue, started

Blue never fails to elicit a smile from me.  Even when I’m having an annoying day, I get to Blue’s house and can hear the thumpthumpthump of his tail on the other side of the door, waiting for me to open it.  Once I do, he explodes out of it, bouncing like rubber in fits ofContinue reading “Blue, started”

Oscar

Art writer Paul Gardner wrote “A painting is never finished, it simply stops in interesting places.” Oscar should have been finished a couple of weeks ago, but I kept touching it.  Now it’s worse. I’m stopping here, in these interesting places.

Tootsie started…

I loved the way the sunshine hit her face as she was looking up. As I was putting down the basic sketch, I was using pencil rather than charcoal, and was working in a more detailed way.  Normally, I just throw down some charcoal lines and go, but I was kind of getting into it.  This canvasContinue reading “Tootsie started…”

Me and Rup

Maybe finished, but probably not.  Hair may need to happen. When I threw the sketch down, I didn’t know if I’d top myself off with hair or a hat. I went with the latter, but now I look hairless and… well, weird.
